Rumor Mill (11.13.12)
What's the latest word going around the halls of Frontier Grappling Arts?
Could Frontier Grappling Arts be adding a second championship? Word going around the FGA Office is that the promotion will indeed be adding a second championship. In fact, we're told from sources that the championship belt has already been made. The name of the belt is unknown at this time. But this belt will become activated for competition in January 2013.
Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, FGA has had to reschedule a lot of its New Jersey dates. In particular, November 3rd at the Inman Sports Club, November 4th at the Jersey City Armory, and December 28th at the Rahway Rec Center. FGA officials have tenatively scheduled a return to Jersey City on February 9, 2013. They've also tenatively scheduled a return to Rahway on March 30. No return to Edison has been determined at this time.
With A.J. Fairchild winning the 2012 New Frontiers Cup, and with Ryan Kidd coming so close to winning the trophy himself, FGA officials are looking to see who will be the next grapplers to step up and become serious challengers for Chandler Scott's FGA Heavyweight Championship.
Pat Gordon, Jr got a big win for the home team after defeating Kevin Hardaway in a "Chivalry is Dead" match at FRONTIER vs FGA. But earlier in the evening, Gordon saved Ryan Kidd from further assault from Ryu Kanata. Could that decision to stick his nose in business that it didn't belong come back to bite him?
As seen on FGA's twitter a couple weeks back, FGA is planning a Canada show early next year. Word around the office is that this show could potentially be a supershow. Nothing has been finalized as of this writing. But an announcement could be made during the Final Frontier show.
After the "Collision" show with Peach State Wrestling in July and after the "FRONTIER vs FGA" show with Pro-Wrestling FRONTIER in November, could FGA be looking to co-host another joint show?
With the likes of The Phantom and Jacques Mercier popping back up recently, could another familiar face be making a return to an FGA ring?
