Frontier Post for 12.17.12

What happened at the Elizabeth DVD Taping this past Saturday? Click below to find out.

This past Saturday at the Elizabeth, PA DVD Tapings, champion AJ Fairchild was in the spirit of giving. He decided to give his challenger, Ryan Kidd, a chance to up the ante for their FGA Heavyweight Championship Match at Final Frontier. Fairchild proposed the match now be changed to a Best 2 out of 3 Falls Match. Kidd gladly accepted. But will this move come to backfire on Fairchild, since he essentially gave his opponent two chances to beat him? There match back at Fear itself was very close. Almost too close for Fairchild's liking. In recent weeks, Fairchild has begun to show a more arrogant side of him which has fans worried that he's starting to get full of himself. Justice Young will be speaking to both men on that topic and much more heading into their Final Frontier match on December 28.

One match that could be in doubt is the “Mixed Bag” 8-Man Team Match. That match will pit the team of Chris Q, Malcolm Drake, Diego Alvarez and Tony Edison against Jake Winchester, Akrista O'Hare, Alyssa Casteele and Jacob Demore. On this past Saturday's DVD Tapings, we were given a preview of that match as four men from opposing teams faced off. While Jake Winchester and Tony Edison went back and forth and shook hands before & after the match, Malcolm Drake decided to cheap shot Jacob Demore, attacking his already injured leg post-match. There's still no word on the extent of Jacob's injury. But even if he makes it to Final Frontier, the team of Winchester, Akrista O'Hare, and Alyssa Casteele will clearly not be at 100%.

Speaking of O'Hare, she had the biggest match of her FGA career to date as she took on the infamous Ryu Kanata. Kanata is well no for not only his violent past, but his disregard for his opponents and his tendency to jump them before the opening bell. But this time, his plan backfired as O'Hare had him well scouted and nailed him with an elbow that rocked him. From there, it was all O'Hare as she hit Kanata with a series of moves that left the Broken Glass and Barbed Wire Phoenix reeling. O'Hare finished off the match shortly thereafter, getting not a huge upset win, but getting a bit of confidence back after a hard fought loss to Chris Q on December 1.

Chris Q was back in action and looking to make it three for three in FGA. But he, much like O'Hare, would be facing his toughest test to date in Pat Gordon, Jr. Gordon Jr has been wrestling with a concussion for nearly a month now. Despite his condition, Gordon Jr controlled a lot of the action at times, dominating Chris Q like he never had  been before. But after a series of blows to the head, the door was left wide open for Chris Q to take back control of the match. And he did, finishing off Gordon Jr and continuing his winning streak in FGA. With three wins under his belt under some impressive opponents, who will be able to stop the man that has referred to himself as “the new big bad” in FGA?

Another viral video was packaged together during the DVD Taping. Some people initially thought these videos were for the arrival of Malcolm Drake. But these videos continued to air past Drake's debut, confirming that the two are not related. According to this latest message, “the beast will rise at Final Frontier.” Rumors have been running rampant as to who, or what, is behind these series of messages. But the FGA fans won't have to wait much longer as it appears an answer will be given next week at Final Frontier.
