Event Center 1.17.13

Hello fans. It's Justice Young here at the Event Center! We are just a little over a week away from the big double shot weekend. FGA will be coming to both Plymouth, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island the weekend of January 27-27.

This past Saturday, The Murder struck again as they added another name to their hit list. Throughout the match against Alistair Mangold, Malcolm Drake targeted the leg of Mangold. It was a sound strategy that led him to victory. But of course, he wasn't done there. The head crow of The Murder wasn't content with a win. He wanted blood. And he got it as his buddy Dom Harter helped further injure Mnagold, driving him right out of FGA. This is now the second FGA grappler that Malcolm Drake has injured. The first being Jacob Demore. And now this. With Drake advancing to the semifinals of the Pride Tournament, what lies in store for both Bob Pooler and Tony Edison? Could the two of them meet a similar fate to Demore and Mangold? Only the self-proclaimed "Godkiller" knows what's in store for these two men.

Speaker of Pooler, the x factor of FGA came under attack before he even had his first match here. His first round opponent of the tournament, Akrista O'Hare, made it well aware that she didn't trust him at all. But Pooler's actions spoke much louder than her words. There were plenty of opportunities throughout their match for Pooler to take liberties with her. But he failed to take a single cheap and kept the action on the up and up. Not only that, but Pooler also came to the rescue of both Pat Gordon, Jr and O'Hare when they were being attacked by The Murder. At this point, it seems as though Pooler appears to be a stand up guy. A bit of a trash talker, but he appears to be one of the more respectable members of the roster. Unfortunately for him, his act may have drawn the ire of The Murder. And as Jacob Demore & Alistair Mangold can attest, you do not want to get on The Murder's bad side.

In another Pride Tournament match, Kevin Hardaway was victorious over the masked Eddie. But what should have been a night to remember turned into one he'd rather forget. As he basked in the glory of his victory, K-Hard was laid out by Anton Chase. Our cameras picked up Chase mentioning that "there's much more where that came from." What in the world could Anton Chase have meant by that? Also, why would Chase attack Hardaway? I could see if they were going to be facing off in the semifinals and Chase wanted to soften him up. But Chase was never even in the Pride Championship Tournament. And to our knowledge, Hardaway and Chase have never crossed paths. So why Chase would attack K-Hard remains a mystery. Hopefully we'll get some answers out of Chase next weekend. And if he doesn't want to voluntarily give answers, then I'm sure that K-Hard would gladly beat them out of him.

Chris Q remains unbeaten in FGA. With wins over Mangold, Akrista O'Hare, Pat Gordon, Jr, and a win in the “Mixed Bag” 8-Man Tag, Chris Q has firmly placed himself near the top of FGA. But if you ask him, he feels that he is the best wrestler that this company has ever seen. The self-proclaimed “Big Bad” of FGA had nothing complimentary to say about the FGA Heavyweight Championship Match at Final Frontier, going so far downplay Ryan Kidd and A.J. Fairchild. He then went out of his way to make disparaging remarks towards Chandler Scott of all people. As of today, the usually loud mouthed “Varsity Villain” has yet to respond. The former FGA Heavyweight Champion has been radio silent since his loss to Ben Hanson back at Final Frontier. But with Chris Q inching closer and closer to the top of the ladder, and with Chandler's rematch clause still in play, these two could clash on their way to a title shot.

In other news, it appears as though FGA is all the rage these days. It is no secret that FGA has grown tremendously since the month of December, more than doubling its roster size. But not only are they bringing in more wrestlers, but they're bringing in well known talent. Guys like Leon Corella, Kevin Hardaway, Chris Bonb, and Aaron Blaize to name a few are big names from well-known organizations. And now the cream of the corp has joined Frontier Grappling Arts. With the company bringing in more well known talent, as well continuing its string of successful shows, FGA has developed quite the buzz around itself. So much so that several companies are interested in putting FGA back on television. As you may remember, FGA was originally airing weekly shows in late 2011 and early 2012 on WMBA Channel 35 out of Bloomfield, NJ. But the higher ups of FGA decided to due away with the weekly TV tapings and switch to bi-weekly DVD tapings in February of 2012. But if the names being rumored about are true, FGA could see themselves showcased on a much bigger platform if they do return to TV.

Coming up in roughly 9 days is the big double shot weekend. FGA will be making its debut in both Plymouth, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island on the weekend of the 26-27. Scheduled for those events are several big matches. Including: FGA Heavyweight Champion A.J. Fairchild going one on one with Preston Blake. Pat Gordon, Jr gets to exact a bit of revenge as he takes on the still undefeated Chris Q. Both semifinals of the Pride Championship Tournament will take place as Jake Winchester, Leon Corella and Kevin Hardaway face off in one Three Way Dance. And in the other, Tony Edison, Malcolm Drake and Bob Pooler will do battle. Two of those six men will advance to the finals, which will take place at Pride, Honor & Excellence on February 24. In addition, Johnny Blayze, Camellia D. Magna, Dani Tyler, Hank Hazard & Braydon Jones will all be making their debuts. And so will SCCW mainstays Chris Bond and Aaron Blaize. Plus, an announcement regarding FGA and another promotion is rumored to be made on one of these shows. There's so much action going on in FGA nowdays. Blink and you may just miss it. So if you're in the area, please make sure to check out FGA on the weekend of January 26-27.

That's all for this week. I'm Justice Young. And I'll see you here next time at the Event Center!
