Newswire for 1.14.13

For the past two weeks, wrestlers and fans have wondering whether A.J. Fairchild intentionally hit Vikki Synn in the head with his FGA Heavyweight Championship at Final Frontier. By the end of the night, we had our answer.

Since December 28th, Fairchild has bent over backwards to apologize to both Ryan Kidd and Vikki Synn. But it appeared that some people, mainly Preston Blake and Pat Gordon, Jr, weren't buying it. Preston went so far as to stage a protest while asking for Fairchild to be stripped of his championship. But while that display may have been viewed as self-serving, the fact that a man as respected as Gordon, Jr made people question Fairchild even more. Ever since winning the championship, Fairchild has not only shown a more cocky side, but he had shown signs of resentment towards his friend. But despite these red flags, Fairchild maintained that it was an accident.

After Fairchild kicked off the show with yet another apology, Kidd and Vikki remained unsure of Fairchild's intentions. Fairchild claimed that by the end of the night, everyone would know where we stood.

In the main event, Kidd took on Preston. Kidd wasn't buying Preston's protest and his slick talk. He continued to hold Preston responsible for what happened to Vikki at Final Frontier. And had Preston not ran down after the main event and attacked Kidd, it could be argued that Vikki would have never come down to the ring. Kidd wasted no time early on, pouncing all over Preston and not letting up at all. Preston was so overwhelmed with Kidd's onslaught that he tried to leave and get himself counted out. But Fairchild, who was made out to be Public Enemy #1 by Preston, wasn't about to let the Harvard alum get off easy. He quickly grabbed Preston, ran back down to ringside and rolled him into the ring. A well-timed counter on Preston's part got him back in the mix. But after Preston controlled the match midway, Kidd battled back and soon took back the advantage in the match. It appeared as though Kidd was about to finish off Preston with a high-risk maneuver from the top rope. But Fairchild pulled Preston out of the ring, causing Kidd to crash hard onto the canvas. The match then ended in a disqualification after Fairchild slammed Preston's head against the ring post. But Fairchild wasn’t done there.

Fairchild proceeded to attack Kidd, causing the crowd to officially turn on him in full force. Fairchild then went back to the outside and pulled out a ladder. He then attacked Kidd with the ladder until Vikki ran down to the ring again. The two then stared each other down before Vikki socked him with a punch to the face. What happened next left no doubt as to Fairchild's intentions. Once Vikki turned around to signal for medical attention, Fairchild clutched his belt and nailed Vikki in the face yet again with his championship belt. But he still wasn't done. Fairchild then delivered a flipping piledriver on Kidd onto the ladder before standing “victorious.”

While Fairchild has been shockingly quiet on the subject given his newfound attitude, Kidd and Vikki are both holding up well. You can bet that Kidd will have a lot to say as FGA heads to Plymouth, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island on January 26 and 27. This issue between Kidd and Fairchild is far from over.
