At "Respect is Earned," Chris Q, Chris Bond and The Murder all put their championships on the line. But would they be able to walk out with their titles?
This past Saturday at "Respect is Earned" all three championships changed hands!
In the first title match, Chris Bond lost his Pride Championship, two falls to one, to Johnny Karma. Bond won the vacant Pride Championship in August at "Above & Beyond II." He then quickly lost his title in his first defense to Chaths. Two weeks ago, Bond was awarded a rematch. A rematch that he took advantage of by becoming the first two-time Pride Champion. But once again, Bond fell victim to Karma. Karma had originally lost a chance at the Pride Championship back at "All-Star Showdown II" to Wayne Carruthers. But after several months, Karma worked his way back into contention and won his first FGA title.
In the second title match of the night, The Usual Suspects defeated The Murder to become the second Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions. The Murder originally won the titles during the Dynamic Duos Tag Team Tournament, when they defeated the U.K. Dragons. After Dom Harter was suspended, Bob Pooler took over for the Tenacious Little Bastard and defended the belts alongside Malcolm Drake under "Crow's Law." But the crows were shot down by the team of Jason Marx and Chris Tryon, who defeated the duo in a No Disqualification Match.
And finally, Sean Sands was able to knock off Chris Q for the FGA Heavyweight Championship. Sands won the Frontier Lions Cup in August to earn this title shot. And Sands made the most of his opportunity, defeating the impressive Chris Q. Chris Q has been dominate since stepping foot into FGA last November. In March, he defeated A.J. Fairchild to become the FGA Heavyweight Champion. After losing the belt in May to Dom Harter in controversial fashion, Q quickly won back the belt in June and never looked back. Since then, he's continued to turn away all challengers, both in championship and non-title matches. But Sands was able to overcome everything that the Big Bad threw at him and became champion.
With these three huge title changes, the landscape has changed in FGA. Where does the company go from here? We'll find out on November 9, when FGA returns to the Court Time Sports Center in Elizabeth, PA.
