(Seth Lawless has a smile on his face after the show. He starts to put stuff into his wrestling bag and slings it across his shoulder after he zips it up. He notices that the camera is on him and he nods his head.)
Seth Lawless: I'll give you some words I guess. I assume that is why you are here right.
Anyways, look at what I did to Cami. I beat her in the middle of the ring right? 2-0 on this little journey I call my career. I don't care who steps up to me next. It could be anyone I will fight them. Why? I'm the next big thing and until someone proves me different I will keep on saying it.
Seth winks as he pushes past the camera man.
(In the backstage area, Dan Herrera has his gym bag and he's making his way towards the exit. He appears to be on the phone with someone as he walks.)
Dan: "Yeah, I'm ready to forget about tonight. You have that Cazadores? Good... put it on ice. I'm heading to the hotel right now. I'll probably get there about the same time as you."
(Spencer Burke and a cameraman are trying their best to catch up with Dan. When Spencer believes that they won't make it in time he calls out to Dan.)
Spence Burke: "Dan! Dan! A moment of your time before you head out."
(Dan turns around and sees Spencer and his cameraman. He shakes his head as he looks at the ground, still holding the phone to his ear.)
Dan: "I'll see you at the hotel Peaches."
(Spencer and his camerman catch up to Dan. The cameraman hand Spencer his microphone.)
Spencer Burke: "Dan, the FGA faithful were on your side tonight, but it seems the whole night ended up a bit rough for you. Starting at the beginning, what's going on with you and Hadley."
Dan: "I don't think that talking about it in front of a camera is going to win me any points Spencer. I'll just say that I did something I shouldn't have and now I'm paying for it."
Spencer Burke: "That's a bit on the vague side..."
Dan: "Well it's all your getting Spencer. So if you could finish this up, I'm ready to get out of here."
Spencer Burke: "You called out Chandler Scott on Twitter, this match was specifically booked after you decided that you were going to take matters into your own hands for the FGA locker room. You didn't accomplish your goal here tonight. Anything to say on that?"
Dan: "Starting to get a bit redundant isn't it Spencer?"
(Spencer looks a bit confused by the question. He looks at the cameraman and back at Dan.)
Dan: "Yeah, I know what you WANT to ask, so I'll just answer that question instead. Yeah, I lost at All Star Showdown. Yeah, I drew in the Frontier Lion's Cup in the first round. And here I am losing to Chandler Scott in the main event of Columbus. Dan Herrera is falling apart. Dan Herrera is showing that he can't win big matches. I'm just a guy that looks better in a suit than I do in ring trunks right? That's what you and a lot of other people want to get at isn't it?"
Spencer Burke: "I didn't say th..."
(Dan cuts him off.)
Dan: "But wait, no matter how many people say that I am never going to be the best wrestler in a federation as stacked as FGA is, people like you always go back and then talk bad about how I did as the owner of GDW. People always say the same thing, I ran GDW into the ground. So which one is it Spencer? Am I a better owner or wrestler?"
Spencer Burke: "I'm not saying that at all Dan. I just wanted to know how you felt after tonight's loss to Scott Chandler."
Dan: "How do I feel? I feel like I went out there and fought like champion. I fought til the final bell and I came up short. The truth is Spencer, I was a great owner and I'm a great wrestler. And tonight's loss doesn't disprove that. A lot of people wrote me off in this one from the start anyway and look what happened. I was poised for the win and once again it was taken from me in the final moments by a competitor with the wherewithal to finish me off. But despite the outcome, I know I'm still one of the top competitors in FGA. And if I hadn't called out Chandler Scott, you better believe that it'd of been me fighting Riley Owens for the Pride title in Dearborn. No offense to Cindy, but I'm fairly sure a Dan Herrera / Riley Owens part two would have had more ratings. But whatever, onward and upward I guess. We done here?"
(Spencer's eyes are still wide after hearing Dan's comments about the Pride Championship match the next night in Dearborn. He shakes his head yes.)
Spencer Burke: "Yeah... I think you've given me all I need Dan."
Dan: "Good, have a nice night."
(Dan turns around and heads towards the exit as Spencer looks into the camera and mouth's "Wow" as the feed cuts out.)
(Cordelia Stevenson is seen walking almost in a daze; her Frontier Lion’s Cup tucked under one arm and the bouquet of flowers surprisingly given to her by Jimmy Page gripped tightly in her other hand. Spencer Burke is standing by, and Cordelia doesn’t even seem to notice him.)
Spencer Burke: Cordelia! May I have a quick word please?
(His voice draws her attention. She shifts her gaze towards him, her eyes lighting up in recognition as she notices him for the very first time.)
Cordelia Stevenson: Oh hey, what's up Spencer?
(He clears his throat.)
Spencer Burke: Well first off, allow me to congratulate you on that right there!
(He motions towards the Lion’s Cup.)
Spencer Burke: We saw it presented to you tonight by last year's winner Sean Sands who had some very encouraging words for you. What were your thoughts on those?
(Cordelia glances down at the trophy and smiles.)
Cordelia Stevenson: Well Sean Sands is a veteran in this business and he's been where I aspire to be. So hearing from someone that's been there that they believe I can get there too, it's a good feeling. Not that I lack confidence in myself, but it's always good to know that there are others that believe too.
(Spencer nods before clearing his throat once again, the tone in his voice changing as he continues on.)
Spencer Burke: Now Cordelia, everyone saw what transpired in that ring tonight between you and the FGA World Champion Jimmy Page...
Cordelia Stevenson: Good, then maybe someone can explain to me what the hell just happened out there, because I'm still trying to figure it out myself.
Spencer Burke: It really seemed as if you were ready for a physical altercation there.
(Cordy scoffs.)
Cordelia Stevenson: Wouldn't you be? You've been around Jimmy much longer than I have Spencer, and you know his reputation. He's a loose cannon. He takes great pride and joy in hurting people. So yes, when I heard 'Born of A Broken Man' cue up, I was ready to defend myself because more times than not, Jimmy Page isn't walking out to the ring to make small talk or declarations of love. He's usually walking out to wreck something.
(Spencer raises an eyebrow and glances at the flowers.)
Spencer Burke: Well that certainly didn't seem to be the case tonight.
(Cordy looks a bit unsure for a second before defiantly shaking her head.)
Cordelia Stevenson: Are you serious right now? Please don't tell me you bought that, Spencer. Jimmy Page is smarter than I gave him credit for. This stunt he pulled tonight came way out of left field, but as I told him out there... I'm not going to fall for it. I know a ruse when I see one and Jimmy Page will not catch me slipping. He can play all the mind games he wants to, but it won't shake me. When the time comes, I'll be ready for him, and I'll be ready to take that FGA World Championship from around his waist. Count on it.
(Spencer holds up a finger.)
Spencer Burke: Speaking of that, did you happen to catch the opening of the show? Where Chandler Scott declared himself the new number one contender to the FGA World Championship? He had quite a few things to say about you.
(Cordelia chuckles.)
Cordelia Stevenson: Aww man, you didn't see the tweet I posted as it was happening?
(Spencer shakes his head.)
Spencer Burke: Can't say that I did, I haven't checked the twitter yet.
Cordelia Stevenson: Well basically I just pointed out that Chandler Scott used my music, and pretty much cut a Tony Carmine promo verbatim. I guess that's his way of keeping up with the new wave here in FGA. He better do all that he can, or else he’ll drown pretty quickly in this pool. Funny thing though, hearing my music was the most entertaining part of that entire thing, at least until Jared James came out and spiced it up a bit. I understand that once upon a time, Chandler Scott used to mean something to FGA, but his sense of entitlement is just ridiculous. He needs to understand that this isn't the same FGA that he supposedly carried on his back. This is something bigger. This is something better, and it got that way without him.
(She smirks.)
Cordelia Stevenson: I just find it hilarious that everyone has so much to say about me, yet unless prompted or asked, I hardly have anything to say about them at all. You notice that?
(He nods.)
Spencer Burke: I do actually.
Cordelia Stevenson: Do you know why that is, Spencer?
(He shakes his head.)
Spencer Burke: No idea, Ms. Stevenson.
Cordelia Stevenson: It's because I give the people something to talk about, while they hardly do anything worth mentioning. When you give the people something to talk about Spence; that's what they do. They talk and talk and talk. So while they're busy yapping their gums, reminiscing of yesteryear or making the same empty and idle threats that they couldn't make good on the last time around-- I'm out here doing. I'm out here making things happen and that is why I am the 2014 Lion's Cup winner. That is why I stand before you as the number one contender to the FGA World Championship and that is why on October 18th at Capital Combat, I will become the new FGA World champion. I say it time and time again, Spence; it's not what you say, it's what you do.
She turns toward the camera, her eyes narrowing a bit.
Cordelia Stevenson: So either show up and show out... or just shut the hell up.
(She blows a kiss at the camera before giving Spencer Burke a nod and walking off. The camera trails behind her and sees her stop at a nearby trash can. She looks at the flowers in her hand, and then glances at the trashcan, contemplating whether or not to just throw them out. She doesn't. She simply shakes her head and walks away as the scene fades out.)
(The scene cuts to former FGA Heavyweight champion, Sean Sands, getting close to making his way out of the arena. He only stops when he hears the running footsteps behind him of the cameraman before turning around and smirking. The cameraman stops only a few feet away from Sean and tries to catch his breath while keeping perfect focus on Sean at that moment.)
Cameraman: Sean, you heading off?
(Sean looks down at his watch before looking back up at the cameraman.)
Sean Sands: Pretty much. Show's over and I've got to head back to my hotel room. Got a flight to catch in the morning. What's up?
(The cameraman finally manages to catch his breath before answering the 30 year old.)
Cameraman: I was actually wondering if you possibly had a moment to talk about a few things.
Sean Sands: Ah, sorry. You'll have to catch me at a better time. I really-
Cameraman: Just answer one question?
(Sean shrugs his shoulder and nods.)
Sean Sands: Sure.
Cameraman: You ever planning on returning to FGA?
(Sean seems to think about his answer for a second before shrugging his shoulders again.)
Sean Sands: I guess we'll see in the future.
(With that, Sean makes his leave, leaving a confused cameraman behind.)
(Spencer Burke is standing near the locker room area with Chaz Holiday.)
Spencer Burke: Folks, as you can see, I’m here with the reigning FGA Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion, Chaz Holiday… And Chaz, I’ve got a few things I’d like to talk to you about, now that tonight’s show is all said and done.
Chaz Holiday: Go right ahead, Spencer. I’ll be happy to speak on anything you’d like.
Spencer Burke: Before we get to that, congrats on your huge win against Bob Pooler tonight.
Chaz Holiday: Thank you. It was certainly a challenge, as I expected.
Spencer Burke: Speaking of challenges… You haven’t had a challenger for the title in quite some time. Why is that?
Chaz Holiday: I’ve just been a little pre-occupied, you know? Ever since I won the title back from Joshua Black, I’ve been fighting in the Frontier Lions Cup. But, if a challenger was to step up or be given to me, you know I’m a fighting champion, Spencer. And as I’ve shown in the past, I’ll take on anyone at any time.
(Just then, we see that something has caught Spencer’s and Chaz’s attention as they look up. Seth Lawless walks into the scene, a small smirk on his face.)
Spencer Burke: Hello, Seth… May I help you?
Seth Lawless: Not really. But that man can..
(He pointed at Chaz.)
Chaz Holiday: Me?
Seth Lawless: You’re the only other one here.
Chaz Holiday: What exactly can I help you with?
Seth Lawless: I heard your conversation… And I’ll admit, I may not have been here very long… But if anyone should be named as the next challenger for that title, it’s me.
Spencer Burke: Why do you believe you’re worthy to be the next contender?
Seth Lawless: Are you kidding? Have you been watching the shows? Look, I’ve already talked to management. They agree with me. They said that my performance at AB3 was so impressive that they would give me a title shot, against Chaz, within the next 30 days.
Spencer Burke: Wow… Well this is certainly breaking news… Chaz?
Chaz Holiday: Whenever you decide you want to cash in on that opportunity, Seth.. I’ll be waiting.
Seth Lawless: Well You won’t be waiting long, “Champ.” Because I’ve already decided. I want my title shot at the next taping.
Chaz Holiday: Then I guess I’ll be seeing you at the next show…
(Seth smirks again.)
Seth Lawless: Yes. Yes you will. And you’ll be seeing me leave with that…
(He points at the title belt that is slung over Chaz’s shoulder.)
Seth Lawless: So enjoy it while you can.
(Seth walks off and Chaz and Spencer look at each other.)
Spencer Burke: Looks like you have a match all set for the next show.
Chaz Holiday: I guess so… Mr. Clean is a lot crabbier than I expected…
(Spencer chuckles a bit, as Chaz smirks before the scene fades out.)
(Annie Zellor is sat on a chair in the medical office at Columbus, holding an ice pack against her ribs. She's alone with the resident doctor, who is stood in front of her after having cleared out all her friends.)
Doctor: Nothing appears to be broken, just a bit of bruising. Rest up and you should be ok in three or four weeks.
Annie Zellor: Umm, what if I have a match on Thursday.
Doctor: I'd advise against it, Annie.
Annie Zellor: But I can't let the fans down...
(She says, pouting.)
Doctor: Well I'm going to advise them that it's best if you don't compete in Chicago. If you want to go against my advice anywhere else, you can do so at your own risk...
Annie Zellor: I can't let The Black Hand take this from me though; it's HKW vs. The World and I'm against my best friend and it's for charity ... and so many people will be disappointed if I don't make it. I can't let all those people down I just can't...
(Tears begin to form in Annie's eyes as she winces in pain. The Black Hand really did a number on her earlier this evening; the pain will likely be with her until the next show in New York for the HKW charity show. But before then Annie has to be in Dearborn for tomorrow night's show, then Las Vegas to surprise Ashlyn De Luca at the Phoenix Wrestling show.)
Doctor: You do so against my advice then, Annie.
(Annie smiles, wiping the tears away from her eyes as she says.)
Annie Zellor: Thanks Doc!
(Chris Madison is sitting in his locker room with his gym bag opened between his feet. He peels off his fight gloves and begins unwrapping the layers of tape around his hands when he's interrupted by a knock at the door. Spencer Burke peeks his head in while holding the door slightly ajar.)
Spencer Burke: Chris can I get a few thoughts from you and Tommy about the events of the last two nights?
(Madison smirked as he dropped one of his hand wraps into the bag between his feet. He waved Spencer into the dressing room and then wiped the sweat from his eyebrows.)
Chris Madison: There's not much to it. Annie Zellor and Laurel Anne Hardy have what we want. We came to Frontier Grappling Arts because tag team wrestling means something here. It's one of the few promotions that celebrate a dying art form. It's nothing personal...
Spencer Burke: Some would argue that you made it personal yesterday in Columbus when the two of you ambushed Annie.
Chris Madison: Uh, she knocked into me...I was simply defending myself.
(Madison couldn't even keep a straight face after offering that excuse.)
Spencer Burke: I'm sure that was an accident.
Chris Madison: I'm not going to sit here and discuss tactics. Truth is, I'm a firm believer that if you want something...go out and get it. Don't sit by and wait because you'll just let opportunity slip by. Annie and Laurel are the champs. They are on the top of the food chain. They have to expect all the teams below them to be licking their lips and looking for an opening to throw their names in the mix. Would the Black Hand even be in the conversation had it not been for our attack on FGA's sweetheart?
(Madison nods his head to the door, signaling for Spencer Burke and the cameraman to leave. He goes back to unwrapping the other hand as the scene cuts out.)
The scene opens up in the locker room area. Seated on the bench is Riley Owens, along with the Pride Championship. A once White towel is cover with Red splotches and is draped across shoulders. A couple members of the medical team are surrounding Riley. Riley spots the cameraman and motions for him to come forward; he then waves the medical members to the side. The camera zooms in on Riley. Surprisingly, he lets out a small smile.
Owens: Sweaty, beat up, bloody—I’m sure I look a mess.
(Riley nods his head.)
Owens: But, it doesn’t really matter does it? Even in my current state, at the end of the day, I can still say this—I’m a better man than you Tony!
(Riley is silent for a few moments.)
Owens: You’re scum; you’re a worthless piece of shit.
(Riley shakes his head.)
Owens: You’re supposed to be Cyncity’s friend right? You two are supposed to be close? Your friend just stepped into that ring and wrestled one of the finest matches that FGA has ever seen.
You should have walked to that ring and supported her; you should have congratulated her on a job well done. But instead you exposed yourself as being a selfish douche!
(Riley smirks.)
Owens: You’ve just sealed your own fate Tony. Your “homie” Kevin Hardaway couldn’t get the job done; and you won’t either. The next time we meet in the ring, I’m going to murder you!
(Riley shakes his head once again.)
Owens: But let me turn me attention someone who really matters, and that is you Cyncity. Both of us knew that this match was going war; and, we both knew it was going to be amazing. I don’t care what Dan says, I don’t care what management says, and I don’t care what the fans say—you are an amazing wrestling Cyncity. It was an honor to step in the ring with you. You are a fierce competitor, just like I am. I know this loss stings right now; but you should be proud of yourself. And trust me, your time is coming…sooner rather than later.
(The camera begins to fade out.)
(The camera crew catches up with one of FGA's newest signees and the winner of the night's opener, Colton Sterling. Colton's just finishing getting his gear into his gray gym bag before zipping it up. Once he notices the camera crew, he turns to them and shoots them a smirk.)
Colton Sterling: Well, I guess I can sit here and tell you that I told you guys I was going to beat Danny Diamond, but I'm not going to brag about it. Instead, I just want to hit on something Danny Diamond said.
(Colton takes his gym bag and slings it over his right shoulder.)
Colton Sterling: You see, Danny was right. I'm not a guy who's going to be starring in blockbuster movies or even appearing on TV shows as a guest star. I'm just a wrestler. And to be honest with you, that's all I want to be. I mean, I get that others wanna do that and all that good stuff, but a lot of them forget that our main job description is to wrestle. And that's what I'm going to do.
Sterling shrugs his shoulders.
Colton Sterling: And some people will call me boring. I can already see it happen as soon as I start climbing the FGA ladder. But one thing that they will never be able to say is that I'm not talented and that I'm not a damn good wrestler. Boring, uninteresting, whatever. It really doesn't matter to me. I give you guys results when I'm in that ring, win or lose. Though I tend to do a lot more of the winning. And I'm going to keep doing that, because that's what I do.
(Colton gives the camera a slight nod before making his exit.)
(The sound of a table crashing over can be heard, the clattering of various metallic objects as they hit the floor as the cameraman rushes around the corner to where they see the unmistakable, gaudy leather jacket of The Tenacious Little Bastard as he storms away from the mess which he has just created.)
Dom Harter: Change...like that man is even capable of changing...
(Harter kicks a nearby trash can, sending it hurtling against the wall before he walks away, leaving the cameraman behind.)
(Laurel Anne Hardy has her hands clasped around the back of her skull, her face twisted in conflict and anger. Wedged between her shoulderblades and biceps is the metal pole she liberated from the shelf and used to strike Chris Madison earlier in the night. She's pacing around in uneven circles, taking time over her words, clearly putting a lot of effort into holding a whole lot of emotion back.)
Laurel Anne Hardy: Wrestlin's a big place. Chris Madison, Tommy Knox, obviously ain't that familiar with my career, an' that's fine, but before they push this any further they need to see what happens to people who manage to get to me. People are never the same after me. Look at Arcadia Chavez an' her obsession with me. She's started carryin' round a doll of me. Look at Alexander StarrZoe, look close at his ribcage at the melted skin under his tattoos from where I branded him. Only people who are already broken have the guts to get themselves on my bad side, but they all end up broken even more.
(She stops pacing and closes her eyes for a moment, exhaling unsteadily.)
Laurel Anne Hardy: Chris... Tommy... nobody wants this. I don't want this. Annie don't want this. An' trust me when I tell you both you really, really don't want this, even if you think you do. Goin' after Annie an' Leanne in the same weekend... I've burned people, torn people's flesh off, for less. An' I'm tryin' not to be that person, guys. I don't wanna be the person who destroys you both. I want to be the friend to Annie that she deserves.
(She tenses, so much it almost seems like the tube is going to snap across her spine.)
Laurel Anne Hardy: For your sakes an' mine, Black Hand, don't keep pushin' this. Please.
(As we fade out on her, Laurel is still pacing.)
