Two Big Returns

Frontier Grappling Arts saw two big names return during the double shot weekend.

Two of the most notorious men in FGA history made their returns on 9/6 and 9/7.

On the Columbus DVD Taping, Chandler Scott made his in-ring return after showing up a few weeks prior at the Salem DVD Taping. Chandler made it no secret that he was coming back to FGA to reclaim the FGA World Championship. He even went so far as to say that the Frontier Lions Cup winner would have to wait their turn. This obviously didn't sit well with Dan Herrera, who promptly put Chandler in his place. After a back and forth between the two, FGA Officials made the match for the Columbus DVD Taping.

Despite not competing in an FGA ring since last August, Chandler had built up quite a rep for himself over at Pro-Wrestling FRONTIER. It was there that he amassed records for length and title defenses for both the GFC World Championship and World Tag Team Championship. Even though he didn't make it out of the quarterfinals of the Frontier Lions Cup, Dan Herrera has had a breakout 2014. He dominated the Gold Rush Rumble and even holds a pinfall over Dom Harter, something that that has been a rarity in FGA.

It was a back and forth contest between both men. At one point, it looked as if Herrera was seconds away from victory. But it was Chandler who was able to pull out the win via the Harvard Hammer.

The very next night in Dearborn, Michigan, Malcolm Drake made his return to the promotion for the first time in months. The last time Drake was seen was at International Incident, when he and Bob Pooler were defeated by the SMWB for the World Tag Team Championship.

After several months away, Drake returned to the same reaction that he left with. But he wasn't full of the hate that had been on display since his debut in late 2012. There was remorse in Drake's voice. There was regret in his words. In fact, Drake returned because he wanted to remake himself... in FGA's image. After wanting to repent for his past sins, his former fellow crow, Dom Harter, interrupted. He mocked his former mentor, claiming that he would be in Drake's way for every step he takes towards his road to redemption. Harter capped off his speech with a hard slap. The show of disrespect caused Drake to lunge at Harter out of anger. But it was too late as Harter escaped to the outside and shouted that Drake hadn't changed a bit.

Both of these men plan to embark on two different paths. With Chandler, he simply wants to regain the World Championship and is willing to step on anyone to do it. With Drake, he wants to remake himself in the image of the company he previously tried to tear down. Will both of these men succeed in their goals? Only time will tell...
