The following contains spoilers from this past Saturday's Pay Per View event.
Sunshine Scandalous Tony Carmine was the bigger winner at this past Saturday's PPV event. After getting eliminated in the Quarterfinals of the 2014 Frontier Lions Cup, the Pride Champion won out, defeating Fujiko Mine, Izzy Anders and Noelle Smith (coincidentally, all current or former Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champions) to become the 2015 Frontier Lions Cup winner. He'll now go on to challenge the FGA World Champion...
... which is Chandler Scott. The self-proclaimed DNA of FGA faced arguably his toughest test to date in Johnny Karma. The former Pride Champion pushed the pace and control a large portion of the match. But Chandler was able to secure the victory in the end.
Arguably the biggest news coming out of this weekend were injuries to both Cordelia Stevenson and her tag team partner/best friend, Cindy "Cyncity" Parker. We saw Chris Q emerge from the back during Sean Sands' Quarterfinals Match against Stevenson. Many assumed that The Big Bad was there to cause harm to Sands. But it wasn't until Sands got the upset over Stevenson that Q's true intentions were revealed. After Sands made it to the back, Q jumped Stevenson from behind. He then scissored Stevenson's ankle in a steel chair before jumping onto it from the second rope. This was the same ankle that knocked Stevenson out of action for several months during her stint in PDW. There's no word yet on how severe the injury is. But word going around is that the 2014 Frontier Lions Cup Winner/2015 Gold Rush Rumble winner will be out indefinitely.
Cyncity experienced a very similar injury when her match with Dom Harter went to a double countout. The Tenacious Little Bastard had been out for revenge for several months after being eliminated by Cyncity in the Gold Rush Rumble. After the match concluded, he wrapped Cyncity's wrist inside of a chair and then through the steel steps onto it. Word going around is that her doctors have advised her to take time off. But Cyncity, who prided herself on being #NoDVDTapingsOff, will not be taking time off. Only time will tell if that turns out to be a wise decision or not.
Evangelista won big at Above & Beyond IV as she defeated Johnny Cannon in a fantastic match. The two UK grapplers were vying for a shot at the Pride Championship. Upon his arrival, Cannon made it perfectly clear that he was the greatest pure wrestler in all of FGA. Evangelista, meanwhile, was still regarded as one of the best pure wrestlers of the world and would've been the Pride Champion if she hadn't been screwed over by Tony Carmine. After a back and forth match, Evangelista won the right to be declared the #1 contender for the Pride Championship.
In other action, Whiskey Dex defended their World Tag Team Championship against the #sparklebuddies and HALLYU GENERTION. Whiskey Dex didn't take too kindly to the #sparklebuddies inviting HALLYU GENERATION into this title match. They also didn't appreciate FGA Officials signing off on the match before consulting the champions. But Whiskey Dex, being the fighting champions they are, took the match. After an intense battle, the match ended in a controversial double pinfall. Things continue to remain unsettled between Whiskey Dex and the #sparklebuddies. One has to wonder when, or if, a third encounter will take place between these two great teams.
