The following is video from this past Saturday's Vertigo taping:
Spencer Burke: Let’s transition into another question. Do you feel that Tony is your toughest test to date?
(Chandler back and rubs his chin as he recalls the opponents from months gone by.)
Chandler Scott: I feel like everyone that I’ve been in a World Title Match with this year, either as the challenger or as the champion, have been tough opponents. They all have their strengths. They all have things in their game that… I don’t want to say worry me. But they all have things that I make sure to take note of.
Spencer Burke: What’s in Tony’s game that you think you should make note of? What does he do that’s a cause for concern for you?
(Chandler smirks)
Chandler Scott: You don’t expect me to sit here and answer that, do you? I’m not going to sit here on national TV and tell my opponent what he should be doing less of or what I’m keeping my eye out for. Come on, Burke.
Spencer Burke: Chandler, you’ve alluded to this plan that you have. A plan that, you say, are going to execute well. Does that plan involve getting the jump on Tony before the 4 Year Anniversary Show?
(Chandler lowers his head before shaking it. He then looks back up at Burke).
Chandler Scott: Now why would I do such a thing like that? Hmm? Why would I deny the people the chance to see its World Champion and its Pride Champion fighting at 100 percent? The fact is that I don’t need to go that route. You see, I’m on such a level right now that I don’t have to resort to those tactics. You can put the names of every FGA wrestler in a hat, pick out a name and I will outwrestle them. That’s not cockiness. That’s just stating facts and I’ve got roughly a year’s worth of evidence to prove it. I don’t need to attack Tony from behind. I don’t need to try and take him out. I’ll meet him head on in the center of that ring at the 4 Year Anniversary Show… and then I’ll drop him.
Spencer Burke: Do you think he’ll abide by these same rules? We’ve seen him cheat before. We’ve seen him attack before.
Chandler Scott: Tony Carmine is a smart man. I don’t see him doing something stupid like attacking me from behind. I understand that this is a huge match for him and that a shot at this title may not ever come around for him again. But I feel like at the end of the day, Tony has too much respect for me to pull something like that. Besides, Tony’s not dumb. He’s a smart guy. He’s seen what I’ve done to people that have tried to take me out. He’s seen me go to war with people that have declared war on me. He knows that if he crosses that line, there’s no going back. Tony’s a smart man. He’s an ambitious man. But he’s not an idiot. He knows which lines not to cross.
Spencer Burke: Is that a threat? Because it’s sounding like a threat to me.
Chandler Scott: Look at you trying to stir the point. What threats? Who is threatening who here? No one is threatening anyone. I’m simply stating the obvious. You can take that however you.
