Grappler Hurt?

Popular wrestler has been sidelined with a neck injury.

This past Saturday on Vertigo, Leanne Evangelista and Johnny Cannon once again grappled with the #1 Contendership for the Pride Championship on the line. Evangelista came out swinging and was noticeably more aggressive throughout the match. But while she was more aggressive, she was uncharacteristically reckless, leaving herself open for The British Mamba to take advantage. Cannon did just that as he repeatedly targeted Evangelista's head and neck. Cannon was clearly headhunting as he was looking to hurt Evangelista just as much as he as looking to win. Unfortunately for Cannon, he succeeded. Not only did he win the match to become the next in line to challenge Sunshine Scandalous Tony Carmine. But Evangelista was injured during the match. The referee knew something was immediately wrong with Evangelista following the match. Our worst fears were confirmed this afternoon by a message from Evangelista's close friend, Laurel Anne Hardy. Hardy informed us that Evangelista suffered a C2 and C3 cervical fracture. The timetable for recovery is 3-6 months. Our thoughts, prayers and well wishes are with Evangelista, her friends and her family.
