Former champion hit with hefty fine.
At Above & Beyond V this past August, Johnny Cannon lost his FGA World Championship in a Triple Threat Match without being pinned or submitted. Since that night, Cannon had voiced his frustration over not being granted a one on one rematch for the World Championship. In recent weeks, those frustrations grew to the point where The British Mamba reached his tipping point. This past Saturday on Vertigo, Cannon attacked multiple members of the FGA roster throughout the show. What wasn't caught on camera, however, was his attack on a production crew member backstage. Cannon's message was clear: this would continue to happen until he was granted his "rightful" rematch. Well in return, the FGA Office delivered a message of their own in the form of a six figure fine.
This isn't the first time that Cannon has been hit hard in the wallet. This past summer, he and former New King Tony Carmine received a hefty fine after attacking two fans and a referee. Cannon is still scheduled to compete on the next Vertigo, as well as the Final Frontier pay per view at the end of December. However, we're being told that his pay will be docked for both of those events. The British Mamba may have thought he was proving a point. But in the end, he didn't do himself or his wallet any favors with these actions.
