Elizabeth DVD Taping Fallout
This past Saturday at the Court Time Sports Center, Chris Q found out his first challenger for the FGA Championship, Chandler Scott set the record straight, and The Murder competed in singles action.
Just two weeks after becoming the new FGA Champion, Chris Q didn't have to look far to find his next challenger. Or should I say challengers. Because Braydon "The Bully" Jones, then Chris Bond and finally Camellia D. Magna all made arguments as to why they felt they should be the next in line for a title shot. But while all three were stating their case, the champ put a screeching halt to any and all discussions. The self-proclaimed Big Bad of FGA stated that while he would gladly defend the belt (and beat) all three of them at the same time, he wasn't going to do it on Saturday night. He wanted to see them work for it. Just like he had to work for his title shot. So he proposed a Triple Threat #1 Contenders Match for the 4/6 DVD Taping in New York City. It would be Braydon Jones vs. Chris Bond vs. Camellia D. Magna. The winner would receive a title shot against Chris Q at "Only The Strong Survive."
Out of those three would be challengers, only Cami had the night off. Braydon wrestled earlier in the evening, taking on Malcolm Drake. "The Bully" made it known that while he respected Drake's talent, he had no respect for his actions or his cause. He took the action to the Head Crow, manhandling Drake at times during the match. Despite some back and forth action towards the end, Jones picked up the victory and kept Drake on the losing end for the third show in a row.
Chris Bond looked to carry some momentum into that #1 Contenders Match as well. But things didn't turn out so well for him when he faced Dom Harter. These two didn't mince words when it came to making their feelings known for one another. And this match didn't start with a handshake or a collar and elbow tie up. It started with a flurry of fists behind flung by both men. The two did put on a showcase in arguably the match of the night. But Harter was able to keep his momentum rolling by getting one over on Bond.
But The Murder didn't only see action in their two singles matches. After Chandler Scott defeated Johnny Blayze, The Murder jumped the barricade and beat down Blayze. The duo then disappeared just as quickly as they appeared. A furious Blayze was then seen backstage confronting his friend and ally Pat Gordon, Jr over him and Pooler being nowhere to be found while he was attacked. Gordon, Jr appeared to have been able to calm down Blayze for the time being. Key word being "appeared."
Speaking of Chandler, he revealed to everyone that it was in fact him who paid off Anton Chase to attack Kevin Hardaway. He claimed that the fans and the company should be cheering him and supporting him for everything's he's done for FGA. But instead, he feels they shun him and accept Hardaway. A man who, in Chandler's mind, is still the same man who basically led the FRONTIER invasion during the FRONTIER/Frontier War from last Fall. Chandler then promised to run Hardaway out of FGA. And when it's all said and done, everyone will give him the respect that he "deserves" and proclaim him for what he is - the "true Pride of FGA."
Later on in the evening, Hardaway took on Bob Pooler in a non-title match. Hardaway didn't appear to be as sharp as he's normally been. Thus far, Hardaway had been on fire, racking up win after win and capturing the Pride Championship in the process. But Pooler got the better of him on this night. Partially in thanks to unwanted interference from Chandler Scott. Pooler then let Chandler know just how unwanted his interference was by knocking him down with a baseball slide. But being the veteran that he is, Pooler did take advantage and got the win, handing K-Hard his first loss in FGA.
Jonathan Collins, the Director of EXODUS Pro, made his FGA in-ring debut against fellow veteran Tyler Graves. Graves mentioned earlier last week that this would be his final weekend in wrestling. Despite that, he was willing to give the fans a fight and not lay down. While Graves wanted to go out with a bang, the only thing he got for his trouble was a spinning backfist to the face. The same spinning backfist that has concussed promising upstart Tigre Oro. The "Saint of Violence" showed just how dangerous of a weapon his ZERO Hour backfist is, first knocking out Oro on two separate occasions and now Graves.
Also on the card, Santa Claus (don't ask) made his FGA in-ring debut and defeated the masked luchador Zero. And in a match that took place before the tapings, Jason Richards defeated Jason Clark in his FGA debut.
