More News From Mississauga
The two championship matches weren't the only things that went down this past Saturday in Mississauga. Click below to find out what else transpired at FGA's latest DVD taping.
Jacob Demore. Alistair Mangold. Akrista O'Hare. Pat Gordon, Jr. Ryan Kidd. The list of names that The Murder have attacked, injured and ran out of FGA is long. Over the course of the past two months, the duo of Malcolm Drake and Dom Harter have reaked havoc both in and out of the ring in FGA. But this past Saturday at the Mississauga DVD tapings, Pat Gordon, Jr and Bob Pooler got their chance to exact a little revenge.
Bob Pooler, who lost to Drake in the semifinals of the Pride Championship Tournament, took on Harter earlier in the evening. Pooler looked to have Harter right where he wanted him. But some well-timed interference from Drake gave Harter the opening to sneak away with the win. After the match, The Murder did what they do best - attack in numbers. But their attack didn't last for long as both Pat Gordon, Jr and Johnny Blayze ran in for the save. The four men brawled until security and backstage personnel came out to break it up.
After an extended intermission, Gordon, Jr finally got his hands on Drake. At Pride, Honor and Excellence, Gordon, Jr let his emotions get the best of him as he and Harter both got counted out. But during this match, Gordon, Jr only had one goal in mind. And that was to make Drake tap out. Drake, who was fresh off his loss to Kevin Hardaway, was looking to bounce back and finish off Gordon, Jr. But it was not to be as Gordon, Jr was able to trap him inside the Pat Lock. Drake tried to fight off the pain. But the pain became too much for him and he ended up passing out. The ref had no choice but to call for the bell. Harter tried to interfere during the match. But both Pooler and Blayze cut him off, leaving Drake to fend for himself.
"You may have gotten one up tonight, but this is far from over," said an irate Harter after the show. "By the end of this the damage you inflicted tonight will be done unto you tenfold!"
Also this past Saturday in Mississauga, Braydon "The Bully" Jones put his undefeated streak on the line against the veteran Chris Bond. It was truly a back and forth match that saw the young Jones try to gain his biggest victory to date over the much more experienced Bond. But in the end, it was Bond who was able to break "The Bully" down and hand him his first loss here in FGA.
"I lost, but if I was going to lose my first match here in Frontier, I wouldn't have wanted it to be against anyone else," said Jones. "Chris Bond is a legend in this business, and it was an honor to be in the same ring as him. I've still got a lot of learning to do. It's my hope, that at the very least, the amazing fans of Frontier saw that 'The Bully' can truly hang with the best of em."
Jonathan Collins, the Director of EXODUS Pro, made his return to FGA programming. During his last appearance it was up and comer Tigre Oro who was on the wrong end of an "accidental" backfist from Collins. So Collins called out Oro to set the record straight once and for all. But any goodwill was lost once Collins cheapshotted Oro, faking a handshake and nailing him with another backfist to the face.
"That was intentional, kiddo," said Collins. "Let's just make something clear, okay? I'm Jonathan Collins. You? You're an example."
To make matters worse, Collins pulled out an official FGA contract. the Saint of Violence then proceeded to sign that contract... by using Oro as a desk,
"Thanks, bud. You just helped me sign my FGA contract. As of today, I'm an active FGA competitor. And you? You're furniture. And for that, I'm not sorry."
In what could be seen as a dream come true, wrestling superstar Tyler Graves made his FGA on-camera debut. The multi-time champion is well aware of his past and knows that his reputation precedes him. But he's willing to leave the past in the past and start anew in FGA.
"I came to FGA to have a fresh start and to formally leave behind what happened in the past," said Graves. "I came to FGA because they are the first one to reach out to me and give me the platform to redeem myself and to prove to myself and to the great pro wrestling fans that I am a different man and that I am capable of being in the ring again and I am capable to get back to the form I was in when I became the CWC World Heavyweight Champion." Graves went on to say that, "All those judging eyes looking at me like I’m some kind of cancer. But that’s okay. I welcome the challenge of proving them wrong about me. I welcome the challenge of showing them that I’ve turned things around and I’m ready to return to my old form and actually become better than my best. And it all starts tonight."
In other news from the DVD taping, Camellia D. Magna continues to impress as she defeated Jacob Knite. And the masked luchador Zero picked up yet another win as he was able to defeat Johnny Blayze.
