New Champion Crowned
This past Saturday, two titles were on the line. Two champions faced their toughest tests to date. But only one of them would walk out with their title.
This past Saturday as FGA made its debut in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Chris Q defeated A.J. Fairchild for the FGA Championship.
Fairchild, fresh off of escaping the Triple Thread Ladder Match from Pride, Honor and Excellence, was forced to defend his championship against #1 contender Chris Q. Chris Q had defeated Chandler Scott in what was essentially a #1 Contenders Match earlier at the same event. But Chris Q, tired of waiting for his time to come, told everyone that he was done waiting. He was done standing in line and waiting to be given an opportunity. He was going to take it on his terms. And if not, then he wasn't going to wrestle another match in FGA until he got a title match.
Despite what has been made about Fairchild's alleged inconsistency, he always showed up when his title was on the line. He defeated Ryan Kidd in a Best 2 out of 3 Falls Match at last year's Final Frontier supershow. And of course, he survived the aforementioned Triple Threat Ladder Match. But on Saturday, Fairchild ran out of luck as Chris Q dropped him with The Compactor, the same move that he defeated seven opponents with before. Now Chris Q stands with not only his perfect record still in tact, but with the FGA Championship as well.
Two months ago in Woodbridge, Connection, Anton Chase laid out Kevin Hardaway after his first round match in the Pride Championship Tournament. Ever since then, Chase has taunted and mocked Hardaway, dropping various clues about who could have possibly paid him off to attack Hardaway. He mentioned everyone from FGA Management, to Pat Gordon, Jr to even Gabriel Gambino. But before he'd name names, he was calling his shot in Mississauga. So at Saturday's DVD taping, Kevin Hardaway was finally able to get his hands on the self proclaimed "Future." After being down one fall early on, Hardaway was able to rally back, winning the next two falls and retaining his championship. But the celebration was cut short as Chandler Scott came from out of nowhere and low blowed him from behind. But Chandler wasn't done there. He proceeded to take a steel chair and repeatedly assaulted Hardaway with it. Why Chandler attacked Hardaway is still unknown. It appears that he may have been the one bankrolling Anton Chase. But that has yet to be confirmed.
Check back at FGA Online tomorrow for another recap of this past Saturday's DVD Taping.
