NYC Taping Fallout

This past Saturday was certainly a wild one as FGA returned to New York City for its latest DVD Taping.

Over two weeks ago, Chris Bond, Braydon Jones and Camellia D. Magna all made cases for themselves to be named the #1 contender for the FGA Championship. The current champion, Chris Q, made no bones about the fact that he could beat all three of them at the same time. But he wanted to see them work for it, just like he had to work for his title shot. So they did this past Saturday at Basketball City in a Triple Threat Match for the #1 contendership. Both Bond and Magna went at The Bully early and often, trying to take out the biggest man in the match. With Jones down, Magna used her speed and agility to get the advantage over Bond. And it looked as though she was about to put the match away. But a well-timed counter on Bond's part, followed by the End of Days onto Jones, led him to become the #1 contender. Immediately after the match, Chris Q confronted his latest challenger. But the two were soon separated before things turned physical.

The drama between Johnny Blayze, Pat Gordon, Jr and Bob Pooler continued to escalate. Before the taping even began, Johnny Blayze was lured by an unknown woman around the corner. As soon as Blayze rounded the corner, he was brutality assaulted by The Murder. After the tapings began, Blayze kicked off the show against Santa Claus. But after Santa had Blayze lined up to put him away, Blayze rolled to the outside. Blayze wound up getting himself counted out as he didn't want to risk further harm after The Murder's attack earlier. Blayze then confronted both Gordon and Pooler later on in the show. The two tried to diffuse the situation and calm Blayze down. But Blayze appears deadset on the belief that Gordon and Pooler purposely let him get attacked and didn't bother to lift a finger to help him.

In the main event, Kevin Hardaway defended his Pride Championship against Bob Pooler. Two weeks ago in Elizabeth, PA, Pooler defeated Hardaway in a non-title match. This time, he had his chance to gain his first FGA title. In was that described as one of the best matches of the year thus far, Pooler got the first fall over Hardaway. During the second fall, neither man could get to their feet by the count of ten, forcing the ref to rule that fall a draw. In the third and final fall, Hardaway rallied back and got the pinfall. With one fall a piece and another fall a draw, the ref had no choice but to rule the entire match a draw. While the crowd booed the decision, the boos turned to cheers once the two men embraced each other after a hard fought battle. But the good times didn't last long as Chandler Scott, who has had his issues with Hardaway for months, made his way to the ring. While Pooler and Hardaway were distracted, The Murder jumped the barricade and attacked Pooler from behind. Hardaway tried to help, but Chandler attacked him and tossed him to the outside. With The Murder attacking Pooler two on one, Pat Gordon, Jr ran down for the save. After sending Chandler over the barricade and into the crowd, Hardaway came back in and helped Gordon and Pooler clear the ring. After the ruckus, Blayze appeared at the entrance way. Both Gordon and Pooler motioned for him to come to the ring and celebrate with them. But Blayze wanted no part, feeling once again left out in the cold and realizing, in his mind, just where he stands with Gordon and Pooler.

The drama between Dom Harter and Jonathan Collins has been brewing for several weeks. One day before Dom Harter challenged for “his” International Championship, he got his hands on the man that he felt screwed him, Johnathan Collins. Neither of these men were able to hold back. However, a missed low blow by Harter (that was missed by the ref) led to Collins being defeated in this match.

Former SCCW star and NWA Television Champion J.T. Cash made his return to the wrestling world. After renouncing his old ways and claiming that he could've signed to the bigger promotions, he decided to choose FGA. Cash spoke about his passion for both this company and the top level performances that are given on every DVD taping. He then promised to prove once and for all that he will be everything that you will never be.

More participants were named for the upcoming Gold Rush Rumble at Only The Strong Survive. Those names were: Braydon Jones, Camellia D. Magna, Johnny Rampage, Santa Claus, Jason Richards, Johnny Karma, Wayne Carruthers, J.T. Cash, and a returning A.J. Fairchild. They will now join Pat Gordon, Jr., Malcolm Drake, Dom Harter, Jake Winchester, Anton Chase, Tigre Oro, Jonathan Collins, Bob Pooler, and Johnny Blayze in the over-the-top rope Rumble.

Also at Saturday's DVD taping:
- A returning Tigre Oro lost to Wayne Carruthers, who made his in-ring debut.

- The charismatic Johnny Karma made his in-ring debut by making short work of the masked luchador, Zero.

- One half of the new GFC Tag Team Champions, Jason Richards, got a bit of a revenge on a man from his past, Anton Chase, with a win. That was, of course, before Chase attacked him post-match and dropped him right on the base of his neck with the Starmaker.

- And the UWL World Heavyweight Champion, Pat Gordon, Jr, was defeated by Chandler Scott.
