Title Match Signed

Late this afternoon, FGA Officials signed off on the big title match that will main event Respect is Earned.

At Respect is Earned, Chris Q will defend the FGA Heavyweight Championship against #1 contender, Sean Sands.

It was at last weekend's Above & Beyond II supershow where Sands won the Frontier Lions Cup, going through three opponents in one night. Sands was going to be presented with the Lions Cup trophy and celebrate in front of his home crowd on the 9/14 DVD Taping in Columbus. But now, Sands has even more reason to celebrate.

Since entering the championship scene in early March, Chris Q has been synonymous with the FGA Heavyweight Championship. The self-proclaimed Big Bad has continued to rack up wins over the likes of Bob Pooler, Malcolm Drake, A.J. Fairchild, J.T. Cash and two title defenses over Chris Bond. Despite losing the belt in controversial fashion to Dom Harter, Q quickly regained his belt and has held onto it since.

Sands will look to recapture the magic that he possessed during the Frontier Lions Cup tournament in his big match with the champion. Some of FGA's best have failed to beat Q. Can Sands, a man who wasn't even supposed to be in the Lions Cup tournament, do the unthinkable and beat the champion? Or will Q be able to turn away yet another challenger?

The Ohio native will try to follow in the footsteps of A.J. Fairchild. It was Fairchild who won the 2012 New Frontiers Cup and then rode that wave to an FGA Championship win. But in an ironic twist, it was Q who ended the title reign of last year's Lions Cup winner. Will the champ be able to stop this year's Lion's Cup winner? Another striking parallel between Sands and Fairchild is that in March, Q defeated Fairchild for the championship in Canada. Will Q be able to once again beat a Lion's Cup winner in Canada?

We'll find out on October 26 at Respect is Earned, live from the Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
