Former champion regains gold.
It's no secret that Johnny Karma has come up short in his last several championship matches. The last time Karma had held FGA gold was in the Fall of 2013. But after numerous failed attempts, Karma was able to do what some were considering the unthinkable: defeating Sunshine Scandalous Tony Carmine. At last Saturday's edition of Vertigo, Karma was able to defeat Carmine in two straight falls to become the new Pride Champion. Years of hard work and dedication finally paid off for the Queens native. He now becomes the third man in company history to win the Pride Title on two separate occasions. Karma had been on a mission to clean up FGA after turning over a new leaf himself. He stated that there was one last obstacle to knock down. He did just that in grand fashion as he capped off Vertigo with a title win.
However, his celebration was cut short as hated rival Johnny Cannon crashed the party. The British Mamba attacked an already fatigued Karma with relative ease. It then looked like he was going to hit Carmine with the Pride Championship belt once he was done with Karma. But at the last second, Cannon stopped. The two men shared a knowing look before proceeding to double team the new champ. This came as a shock to fans since Carmine and Cannon never saw eye to eye. The issues between the two men dated all the way back to Cannon's debut match in FGA against Carmine. In an even stranger turn of events, Danny Diamond entered the ring and joined in the beatdown. This new terrible trio closed off the show standing tall over the beaten body of Karma. What brought about this unlikely alliance? What will Karma say? What will he do in retaliation? Tune in to next week's Vertigo to find out!
